Hey there, I'm Ashley.I currently reside in Rockford, Michigan with my husband, Cody, our rambunctious pup, Glory Mae, and our sweet baby girl, Charleigh! I am a believer of Jesus, of staying barefoot and outside all day and watching the sunset. I love DIY, plants, hosting parties, seeing the world through kid's eyes, sunshine, good food, renovating vintage campers + houses, antique shops, bonfires + quaint little coffee shops. I find inspiration in nature, in learning the story behind everything, in looking at the stars when it gets dark, + seeing beauty in the most unexpected ways. What's up with the name?
[Formerly named] Saturday Morning Macarons, began as an idea, spoken about while catching up with a close friend over [you guessed it] macarons and a strong cup of coffee. Can you guess what day of the week it was? For me, this captured a concept of the sweet moments in life. Moments of light, of passion, of inspiration and joy.
Fast forward a few years, and life brought a season quite like a Michigan one- lots of change!
Cody and i got married, I took a leave of absence from my full time job at the hospital to refocus on mental health and self care, we moved to a new home and after much reflection, I left my hospital role + started a new position providing care for a sweet little boy. With all this change, it felt appropriate to meditate on my creative goals + refresh my side business [previously, Saturday Morning Macarons].
Inspired Pines will continue to encompass all the creative things I love: photography, selling handmade + vintage goods and hosting market for local artists + myself to collaborate and showcase/sell their items. After some time + mindfulness I realized each of these things, for me, shares a common goal- to inspire. Both myself + others.
Our new home, which is where our married life has started, where I have taken time to focus on my mental health + where I plan to grow this business, is wonderfully lined with pine trees. One of my favorite things to do is sit on the back deck with a warm cup of coffee in the morning + look out at the pines, how the birds find safe haven in them and bunnies burrow down at their roots.
It was a bit of a full circle moment when I thought of the name. Inspiration, hope, wonder, sweetness, tough times, change, beauty- all the things I experience in my own life + through creative work- all jumbled together into one name, Inspired Pines.
